St Mary's has a long history within Chard Town and would have been filled and over flowing with people during worship. Today and once again St Mary's is growing and with the challenges ahead we hope to buck the trend of declining congregations. It is now official that we are growing as a church.

We have a diverse and varied community looking after the Christian spiritual well being of the local town.

We are a congregation of mixed ages, and enjoy the variety and challenge of being an inclusive church- we try and include as many groups as we can. Our children are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today' but our older members ensure that the best traditions of the past are kept alive  and help in giving the services a future and modern outlook.

We are a church based on the bible. We have found it to be an amazing guide for life, and that it reveals a God who wants to do amazing things for people. God gives us the energy through prayer to help St Mary’s grow
